Tired of doing what everyone else wants you to do? Tired of not being able to do what YOU want? Be wary of standard, normal and the usual. The status quo is for everyone else, not you…
It’s OK to live the way YOU want to. Some people need to be told that. Some think it is OK to live your life on someone else’s terms. I’m here to let you know that it’s just not true. And it’s definitely OK to do business the way YOU want to, not the way everyone else says you should.
You can choose what level of product or service to market. If you don’t like to do it, don’t offer it. I’m not talking about any aspect of marketing here. You have to have active marketing if you like it or not. But if you don’t want to perform a task that’s related to your main service or product, don’t to it. Even if your customer asks for it. Instead you can refer them to a business associate that you might get a referral fee from and you don’t have to do it.
And speaking of your customer, it is OK to fire a troublesome or demanding customer. If someone is taking up way too much of your time to the point that it takes away from your other customers, you’ve got a problem. For the good of all of your other customers, it would be a wise move to stop doing business with any problem customer. Imagine a business where you only served select customers. Selected not by race or religion but by how much you liked having them as a customer.
Doing business on your terms is truly OK. If an auto mechanic doesn’t want to work on transmissions, he sends it out to his friend that will do the job. The mechanic is doing business on his terms. He could have fixed his customer’s transmission but he didn’t want to have to do it. It works the same way for you, no matter what service or product line you market.
As a home business owner, you could decide to exclude offers that require your personal time or presence. Can you think of how much you would get done if you limited access to yourself for everyone but your most favorite or profitable customers? Business is about making cash and building a business. And you can just as easily do it on your terms as doing it “the usual way”.
Do you live in a major city with all the people and the traffic? You know you don’t have to, right? Do you participate in the same activities as most other people in your part of the world? You don’t have to if you don’t want to. And you don’t have to run your home business like you don’t want to.
You can start living your life on your terms. If not right away, you can set up a plan and execute that plan so you can go from living and doing business by everyone else’s rules to living like YOU want and doing business the way that suits you best.
If these ideas are new to you, this may have been the most important article you’ve read all year.

I want to work from home and make a good living. Any ideas?
I am looking for ideas from people who are self employed from home. I have a young son and I want to be able to stay at home and replace my current income. My income would need to be about 3000.00 per month clear. I currently work in a field that is hazardous duty. My life is in jeopardy on a daily basis. I wont go into detail but I work for the state and now that I have my son, I have more worries about being around to raise him. Does anyone know how I can achieve this? I am not looking for a get rich quick scheme, I want my own business or work for someone else and remain at the same financial state that I am in now or better long term. I am open to anything from selling items to raising animals for profit? Anything is an option. I have a little money to invest, but not alot. Probably 1000.00 to start.
Any ideas how I can achieve this? All answers will be considered no matter what they are.
Greatly appreciated in advance.
mijuju71—-I hardly think its appropriate to assume I am not skilled at my job, nor do I have training to get paid for the job I do. I am actually highly skilled and trained to do my job, one that most are unable or unwilling to do. Thus, the pay is higher because I do take the risk whereas others are unwilling to. Dont be fooled by thinking I am unskilled, I am probably more skilled than you if the truth be known. But, thanks for the insult none the less.
And a daycare is not what I am interested in. My goal is to spend more time with my son, not take away from him by having my attention given to another child. Thanks anyway.
I think most of us would love to make $3000 staying at home. I don’t even make that much in 2 months time going out to work. Good luck in your quest.

i won’t try to involve you in a pyramid or get rich quick scheme – just letting you know that I work for a medical coding company who hires “at home medical coders” who get great benefits, and make between $17.00 and $35.00 per hour depending on the type of coding that they do and their credentials. You’ll have to take a few classes (you can go to college or a trade school for these. There are also a lot of online classes available.) You would also need to become certified (start with your CPC – Certified Professional Coder), but if you go through an actual coding course, they should offer a certification program also. It’s great work; pretty interesting. I do ER coding – people go to the ER for all sorts of fun things. Every day is different, but it’s all right from the comfort of my own home. I can work in my pajamas….that’s nice

Is there some reason you can’t just get a different job? Grossing $50k per year can be difficult in a small business’s infancy, and you seem pretty set on maintaining your standard of living.
Still, check out books on home businesses at your library, at the bookstore, or on Amazon. Maybe you’ll make your fortune hanging wallpaper, who knows.
Good luck!

The first thing to consider is your income level and how you could hope to maintain it if you left your current job. Most new businesses won’t make that much initially; and if they do the money needs to go back into the business! Also to be considered is how much time you’ll need to spend on your new business; will you still be able to pay attention to and spend enough time with your son? Is there an area from which to work, either in your home or nearly?
Or, are you willing to move to a new location if you can find employment to meet your current income level at a safer occupation? How can you use your current skills and experience to obtain a different job which would be more safe for you?
You’re looking for about a $25 per hour job or better, and there aren’t many out there unless you’re a professional something. Most likely you’re earnings are based on the hazardousness of your occupation, not the skills you’re using to perform it, so if you move those skills to a safer locale, the pay’s going to drop.
Think hard about what your interests and hobbies are, and if any can be turned to a retail product or service you can offer. You could also consider turning your home into a day care; one full time child (and you can have up to 6 in my state, counting your own) can often bring in up to $80-100 per week. If you run more than one shift per day, you could conceivably hit your desired income level — but you have to meet the licensing regulations, do a lot of cleaning and disinfecting — basically having a home daycare is a lot of hard work (but not exactly hazardous!).

Hi im John,
I’ll fill you in on a business that needs no money to invest and pays well once a lttle work has been done. I started a business myself. Flyer delivery for small businesses. I mean places like Bob’s pizza or Ashley’s hair salon. These small guys need to advertise with flyers. They dont have the money for tv. Heres where i get your attention. You offer to deliver Bob’s pizza flyers for 5 cents a flyer door to door. Find three more little guys and you have 20 cents a house. Now you can put up your own flyers offering a job that pays $14 per hour. Paying your deliver 10 cents and keeping the other ten cents. FOr every 500 flyers they deliver the pay is $50 dollars for them and $50 for you. Dont stop here!! Get four flyers from small guys in different towns and hire people in these areas. With only one person delivering four flyers/20 cents, five days a week, makes you $250 a week. Four flyers in another town is another $250, and so on for as many flyers you secure.
No bank loan, no risk. I have three people in different towns. Each making me $250 A WEEK. $750 A WEEK. There you go, not a scam. You can go to bussines fast and they always want the flyers done either that day or the next. Getting paid that day or the next.

Be cautious because most work from home sites are scams. Don’t ever enter your credit card or bank information in order to join a site. I would refer you to the below article on working from home. It has some good tips and ideas to get you started as well as some established companies that offer work at home positions. Good luck!
