About

Miles was raised in Anamoose, North Dakota and moved to the Oregon Coast in 1960.  Growing up on the Oregon Coast back then was a world so different then most can even imagine.  Miles, being the only son, was taught to work from a very young age.  The kind of work that filled an entire day, maybe helping to keep him out of as much trouble as he would have naturally been inclined to get into.  Miles has always had the extra spark for life, the adventurous nature.  He grew up to become a man working at the family moorage, the” Siletz Moorage” on the Siletz River.  He went to school and he worked and on the rare times he took off, he had some interesting adventures.  One comes to mind of taking a young lady out to the “Spit” as it was known back then in his parents station wagon.  Miles being who he was, thought it not unusual to drive all the way out onto the beach and of course getting the vehicle stuck.  It took them several hours to walk back home and when they arrived they found both “fathers” waiting for them.  Cute story and almost “innocent” only because of the times in which it took place.

The times were different and they were good times to grow up.  I, Miles, may have thought I missed out by having to work so much while the other guys my age were playing sports in school and going to all the school functions etc…

When I reflect at how much I have been able to accomplish in my life because of what my parents taught me, I sure do appreciate them even more.  I went on to college and graduated!  I raised three good boys and was married for forty years.  I have  a successful business of which I built from the ground up.  I have always worked hard and done my  best to always be honest and direct in all I do.

I have now come to a time in my life where I am developing different interests, such as Internet Marketing and all the potential and freedom it can bring to allowing me to just enjoy and live life.  Naturally I am also considering whether retirement is even possible in our current economic climate.

We are blessed to live in such a beautiful area that is always lush and green, with rivers and streams and lakes and the ocean too.  We have mountains to hike or ski (I don’t ski,yet icon smile About and enough fishing spots to keep us going forever.  My Dad is still living and it gives me great pleasure to visit him and spend time speaking about the past and his time serving in World War II in the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment attached to the 82nd Airborne
I have 3 sisters and they too are close by.

I learned to finally appreciate living life when I met a lady whom I now call my best friend.  I told her father that she captured my heart and I have never looked back since then.

So, in writing an “About” me page I have come to realize my life is only just beginning and I am enjoying each and every moment.
