funny, like in the movie SCANNERS? or how about the study-cram session in REAL GENIUS where the guy loses it and starts screaming…
worse every year, funny… there was a portent to this in the bobby-boris rematch, not the best play by either… it was an overpriced attempt at capturing nostalgia AND after it really didn’t matter with the cold war over… so no greater milieu or zeitgeist of competition was at hand beyond a game of chess itself, i was about to put simple game of chess (not!)

nolan ryan’s last pitch you could hear before he threw it, or really he could hear/feel a snap in his arm – end of career, he pitched until his final pitch ruined him – not sure how you could do this in chess…
